वृक्ष हमारे देश की अमूल्य निधि है । वृक्ष हमें केवल ईधन व फ़सल ही नहीं देते बल्कि हमें इमारती लकड़ी तथा कुछ अन्य आवश्यक वस्तुएं भी उपलब्ध कराते है पोपलर वृक्षों की लकड़ी माचिस बनाई जाती है । यूकलिप्टस वृक्षों की लकड़ी से कागज तैयार किया जा रहा है । इस बीच की पत्तियां कुछ औषधियों के निर्माण में भी काम आती है । इसके अतिरिक्त वृक्ष वायु - प्रदूषण को भी रोकते हैं । तथा वर्षा में मिट्टी के कटाव को कम करते हैं । जरा सोचो कि यदि हमारी उपजाऊ मिट्टी बहकर नालियों में चली जाए तो हम अच्छी फसल कैसे उगा सकेंगे ? वृक्षों के महत्व को ध्यान में रखते हुए हमारा सामाजिक व राष्ट्रीय कर्तव्य है कि हम पेड़ों की रक्षा करें , उन्हें अनावश्यक रूप से न काटें और जहां भी संभव हो अधिक से अधिक वृक्ष लगाएं ।
English Translation
The tree is the priceless fund of our country. Trees not only provide us with fuel and crops, but also provide us with timber and some other essential items. The wood match of Poplar trees is made. Paper is being made from the wood of eucalyptus trees. Meanwhile the leaves are also used in the manufacture of some medicines. Apart from this, trees also prevent air pollution. And reduce soil erosion in rain. Just think that if our fertile soil flows into the drains then how will we be able to grow a good crop? Keeping in mind the importance of trees, it is our social and national duty to protect trees, not to cut them unnecessarily and plant more and more trees wherever possible.
